IN LODGE RECORDS

             Immediately on initiation, or in the case of joining or re-joining, on taking up membership the member is assigned a Registration Number, next in order of the last number on the Register. It will be a unique number, consecutive in order,  which will be referred to in all Returns, Summonses etc. and will not be changed at any time, nor can it be allotted to any other member. 

             A rejoining member shall be considered a new member and a registration number is assigned in the order of joining. He should no longer be referred to by the earlier number.

             Names and other particulars of each new member, including the rejoined member, are placed on a new page bearing this Registration number.

 

With the Grand Lodge / District Grand Lodge

             Immediately after the initiation or joining the original form of Application, Registration Form A, should be sent to the District Grand Secretary, together with a copy for the District Grand Lodge Records.

             Every Brother on initiation and joining from a Lodge not under the UGLE is required to pay a fee to the Grand Lodge under Rule 270 and the District Grand Lodge under its bylaws. Member who are below 25 years of age are required to pay only half the fees.

             No joining Fee can now be charged on a member joining from a Lodge under the UGLE. (since 2005). A copy of the page of the  Membership Register pertaining to the new member should also be sent along with the Registration Form.

             In the case of an initiate and a member joining from a Lodge not under UGLE, an Application for Grand Lodge Certificate should also be submitted to the District Grand Secretary. In order to avoid transmission delays the District Grand Lodge is provided with a supply of Certificates signed by the Grand secretary, for which the District Grand Secretary is accountable. On application the certificate is issued under the Counter Signature of the District Grand Master.
