DGL Meetings The DGL of Madras takes pride in its half yearly meetings. These meetings attract a large number of masons from all over the District. The DGL has its Annual Investiture meeting in February every year and its half yearly meeting in the month of August. The DGL meets take place on the second Saturday of these months. Most often the Annual Investiture meet takes place in Madras and the half yearly takes place outside the city. All DGL meetings are hosted by a Lodge (referred to as the Banner Lodge since the DGL meet takes place under the banner of this Lodge) which makes all arrangements for the meeting with the help of the DGL. During the Annual Investiture Meeting the DGM appoints the officers of the DGL and invests them. The DGL meet is followed by the DGL banquet which is normally a sit down dinner in its most traditional form. During banquet the regular toasts are raised. Peculiar to the Distrct Grand Lodge of Madras is the "Bar Dive" where Bar Dive members meet and make merry. The Bar Dive takes place the day previous to the DGL meeting. Entry to the Bar Dive is restricted to members of the dive. To be eligible to become a member of the Bar Dive one must have been a mason for 5 years and the candidature must be approved by the RW DGM.
