INDIVIDUAL GRANTS

Masonic Relief Grants provide assistance for Freemasons and, after their death, their widows and other dependents in need of financial help.
These grants range from £250 to £4,000 in any one year.
Grants are awarded for:

•Essential daily living expenses.

•Disability equipment (wheelchairs, stair-lifts, baths, etc)

•Unexpected needs (redundancy; outstanding funeral bills; other emergencies)

Lodge Almoners, under the guidance of the Provincial Almoner, have the primary responsibility for keeping a watchful eye on their fellow Lodge members and the dependants of past members, to identify those Brethren who might need help from the Grand Charity. An application should then be made to the Grand Charity, for a Masonic Relief Grant .

The Masonic Relief Grants Committee of the Council of the Grand Charity meets once a month to review all applications received since the last meeting, and grants are made immediately following the meeting. In exceptional cases, for real emergencies, a grant can be reviewed and approved within a few days.

Freemasons or their dependants, who wish to apply for a grant should contact their Lodge or Provincial Almoner, or the Grand Charity office, telephone: 020 7395 9293
