How far is the Project Site from Bangalore ? How far is the Project Site from Bangalore ? 27 Kms from Vidhan Soudha off the Bellary – Hyderabad Highway (Driving time 45 minutes to 1 hour). What is the area of the Site ? 3.3 Acres. What is the constructed area ? 30,624 sq.ft. How much of the land area is taken up by the building /s ? Less than 20% leaving about 80% free and available for landscaping, gardens, walkways etc. How many floors is the building ? Ground plus one only. How many apartments are provided too and their area and amenities ? There are 50 bed-sitter apartments of 290 sq.ft. each, with attached kitchenette, and toilet facility. They are fully furnished, provided with computer, telephone and television ports. Full (Vegetarian) catering is provided – Non-Vegetarian meals extra on request, and Dining Hall-cum- Cafeteria, Library, T.V. Lounge, Prayer Hall etc. Construction is as per Diabilities Act specification allowing for ramps, wheel-chair access etc. Environmental standards have been factored in for Rain Water Harvesting, Solar Heating Re-cycling of sullage water for Toilets etc. What are the constructions coming up in the neighbourhood of the Home? This is a fast developing area on account of the prestigious International Airport coming up within ten kilometers of the Home, and the nearby colony of the Bharath Earth Movers Welfare Society, Schools and Engineering Colleges etc. Moreover, the site we purchased was part of a gated development envisaged in 1998 called ASPEN HEIGHTS covering about 25 acres adjacent, which has now been taken over by the Real Estate Developers known as FERNS. They have now revived the gated colony (with Club House) and therefore we would have access to some of their facilities such as sewage, power, water etc., as per the original sale agreement from the previous developers. It is therefore in a secure area, and not isolated when fully occupied by 2007. Construction is well under way, with roof slabs now being cast, and the inauguration date has been set for 6th December 2006. The Home, which is sponsored by the English Freemasons’ District of Madras, and is slated to be opened by Rt. Hon. Fiennes, Lord Cornwallis Past Pro. Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England. Who are qualified to be residents of the Home ? Men, Women of the ages of 58 and above as well as couples of that age group. Freemasons and their widows will have preference of admission, but the members of the Public are free to apply. The Governing Council of the Home reserves the right to interview and screen applicants prior to admission. What are the charges / deposits that are levied ? A refundable deposit of Rs.10 Lakhs, interest-free will be required on acceptance of residential admission. Monthly charges will be Rs.12,500/- (Twelve Thousand Five Hundred only) for double occupancy and Rs.7,500/- (Seven Thousand Five Hundred only) for single occupancy. This will cover the costs of all vegetarian meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) of bed linen, and towels. Electricity charges, on individual Energy Meters will be extra. What will be the staff and medical back-up available ? The Home will be managed by a Resident Manager, and support staff for Housekeeping, Canteen etc., will be in attendance for general duties. There will be Doctors calling regularly at the Home, and a consultation room and lying-in facility for minor ailments is built in. However, major Hospitals (such as Manipal) are planning large facilities in the vicinity which should all be in place within the next few years. In the meanwhile, there are hospitals such as the Baptist Mission, and Columbas on the Bellary – Bangalore Highway within about 20 minutes drive from the Home. What are the transport arrangements if any ? The Home will be provided with 2 ten-seater vans which will do twice daily runs to the City and back, at declared times, for the convenience of residents. A small charge may be made on a lumpsum, per trip, basis. Residents may bring their own cars, if required, and parking will be arranged for them, on prior intimation. When will bookings be opened ? For Freemasons, bookings are open immediately and will stay open till end July 2006. Thereafter the Public will be considered. However, members of the Public may indicate their interest immediately, and make a booking to be confirmed by August 2006. Who should we contact for further information or registration ?
